This came before the Gouden Carolus Noel pairing, but I wanted to blog that one in real time. This one could afford to wait.
Short and sweet: this works. No shock here.
We drove from Cumming, GA home to Birmingham today. Over 3 hours, and I sure didn’t feel like cooking. So I pulled out some leftover Domino’s Pizza, hand tossed crust with pepperoni, italian sausage, and mushrooms. Leftover pizza doesn’t call for a really expensive beer, so I just pulled out a SNPA I had on hand (sometimes I buy a case at Costco as it’s one of the only decent beers they have).
Simple, basic, and all the flavors work very well. Pale ales are one of the most versatile beers out there in terms of food pairings.
