Yes, part of cooking is eating… leftovers.  Although leftovers aren’t exciting, the He’Brew Lenny’s RIPA is magnificent.  Loads of rye, a bit of alcohol bite, lots of hoppy bitterness.  Balanced with some thick malty sweetness.

Nice combo.  Much better than the gordita with the Ten Fidy.  This one works, and it might be worth exploring rye beers + mexican in more depth.

  1. Hey there. This is Zak Davis from Shmaltz Brewing Company, the makers of HE’BREW Beer. Thanks so much for the shoutout. I’m really glad you enjoyed the RIPA. It is a delicious beer, and I could definitely seeing it stand up to some Mexican food. Hope you had a great new year. L’Chaim!!

  2. Hey! Thanks for dropping by. You must have a Google blog search alert setup for the various Shmaltz brews, because we haven’t even advertised this blog anywhere yet. Still getting the basics in order before trying to get the word out.

Anyway, glad you’re here. I really enjoy Shmaltz beers, including the Messiah Bold which we’ve recently seen hit shelves in AL. It reminds me a lot of Terrapin IBA, which is a high compliment.

I hope you’ll add Beerlicious to your RSS reader, if you’re into that sort of thing.
