I’m a fan of fried pickles. I think they are quite possibly, nature’s most perfect food. (Maybe not…but I wanted to convey that I really like fried pickles.

Some of my favourite fried pickles come from the J. Clyde. They’re little bits of panko-crusted goodness, that are brilliant when paired with a Rogue Dry Hop Red. The slight sourness of the pickles is lovely with the sweetness & hoppiness of the brew.

And here’s where it goes wrong.

On night, I decided to try a different beer with the pickles- and settled on Sweetwater IPA.

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!

It was not a good experiment. I found that the combination of the two produced a flavour that can only be descirbed as lemon & malt Kool-Aid. I do not suggest you try this at home, or anywhere else.
